Playing around with some simple materials I came up with this.

How: I placed the glass on a white sheet of paper with the back folded upwards to create the background.

For the high key white effect I got someone to hold another white sheet of card above me while I took the shot. This bounced the flash back down on the glass and gave the effect i was looking for. Total cost was about €0.20 cent for two sheets of white card from local stationary shop.

The liquid is cranberry juice and I used a coin the create the splash effect.. (I couldnt find anything else in the kitchen) Look closely at the bottom of the glass and you can see it.

Equipment: Canon 5D MKII , 24-105 lens and 550EX II flash gun.

Here comes the science: Aperture F8.0, shutter speed of 1/200, 65 mm focal length and ISO of 500.
